So last week, I don't know if I mentioned here, I got my 1 stone award. And I've been pretty much religious with the diet since then even still...
Yet, I don't think I'll have much of a loss, if any, next week (aka tomorrow). Which is worrying and I'm not really sure how this has happened, unless it's been because I've eaten less (irony, here we go.). I have been very vigilant with what I've eaten though. I will explain and list my syns/healthy extras later on in the post.
Even with a break to Paignton, I remained religious with it. Rejecting Champagne sorbet, free wine and Banoffee Pie were probably the most of heroic moments (in my eyes). Getting to a hotel and finding you have to go to a four-(FOUR?!)meal course kinda scared me, knew I had to be careful.
The options available are as follows...
Prawn Salad OR Mushroom and Bacon pasta
Celery and Stilton Soup OR Champagne Sorbet
Guinea Fowl OR Haddock OR Beef (with an array of vegetables)
Eton Mess OR Banoffee Pie OR Fruit Salad OR Apricot Roulade OR Summer Fruit Jelly
So as you can see, (and if you know me well you'll know that I hate even the less pungent cheese at the best of times) I had to be careful. Even with my sister draining birthday wine right next to me, I had to be so so careful. Needless to say, I was nearly salivating over the bread rolls. So, so as not to drag this out even more, I chose the prawns, the soup, the haddock and the jelly. I should've had the fruit, but by that point my patience had run out. Kept sauce to minimal, just kept on the water. Hadn't even eaten before that day (which is utterly ridiculous, not doing that again) and I was basically foaming at the mouth when they came over with bread rolls, so I feel good that I was controlled and stuck to the diet. Having said that, I will actually faceplant any champagne sorbet or gin that comes my way once my bulk is lost.
I think I have this attitude when eating out (laugh here, get the pun jokes out of your system) where I become far too vigilant and end up fucking up my metabolism. Pasta and bread still scare the living shit out of me, I especially can't go near bread. If you realised how much salt and crap goes even into processed sandwiches, you'd be shocked. I think I'd faint. I think now that I know what exactly is going into my food, I've become very reluctant to chow shit food down again. I'm not sure I'd advise this to EVERYONE, but right now, it's all I'm focussed on.
Well, that and my impossible and futile quest to find a job.
How syns/healthy extras work
You get 5-15 syns a day, which are a way you can eat not so healthy foods, but they are restricted and they can boost your metabolism. For example, 20g of plain chocolate is 5.2 syns. Or 4 olives equal a syn. There's a vast directory listing them all or, as a member, you can use the Slimming World app to calculate it.
Healthy extras (hex) are choices to add to your daily menu, so that you have enough calcium (healthy extra A) and fibre (healthy extra B) in your diet, but again it is at a limited amount, so as to balance the food evenly. For example, 35g mozzarella might be one, 35g Fruit N Fibre might be another (these are the two I generally stick by)

I realise that at some point really soon - perhaps tomorrow after weigh-in (scary) - that I'll have to explain how the whole thing works.
Till then, folks X
